Facilities - Scotiabank Centre, Halifax
Capacity: 11,093
Opened: February 17, 1978

The Canada Games Centre, located in Clayton Park, Halifax, was built as part of the infrastructure for the 2011 Canada Winter Games. This 176,000 square foot facility was designed to host events such as badminton, synchronized swimming, and artistic gymnastics during the games.

The Centre was developed by the Halifax Regional Municipality and is operated by a non-profit society. The design and construction were carried out by a team led by DSRA Architecture.

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto features the striking "Michael Lee-Chin Crystal," designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. Unveiled in 2007, this modern addition to the historic museum resembles a series of interlocking, angular crystals. The innovative design dramatically contrasts with the original 1914 building, symbolizing a bridge between past and present - photographed in April 2024.

The IBM Client Innovation Centre in Bedford, Halifax, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster technological advancement and collaboration. The building was designed by the architectural firm Fowler Bauld & Mitchell, known for their innovative and sustainable designs. Constructed with a focus on energy efficiency and modern aesthetics, the centre features open-concept workspaces, advanced technological infrastructure, and collaborative areas to support IBM's mission of driving innovation. The facility plays a crucial role in supporting local talent and contributing to the growth of the tech industry in Halifax.

Sheldon & Tracy Levy Student Learning Centre (SLC), designed by Snøhetta and Zeidler Partnership Architects. The SLC gives students eight uniquely designed floors of social space to meet, study, and exchange ideas.

This building was designed for the then-Ryerson University which changed its name to Toronto Met. The blue panels so prominent on the building are iridescent, hand-folded metal panels that continue from the exterior façade into the lobby. My photograph celebrates the diversity of of urban functions that exist within a small geographical footprint, where institutional, commercial, and residential meet in a type of symbiosis.

The Bayers Lake Outpatient Centre in Halifax is a modern healthcare facility designed to enhance outpatient services in the region.

The building’s design is contemporary, blending modern architecture with elements that complement the heritage-rich neighborhood.

The Roy is a 22-story, 250-foot-tall structure.
It offers high-end condos with a total of 82 residential units.
The building includes a variety of amenities; fitness center, pool, concierge services, and a rooftop terrace.

The materials used for the building include glass and steel, with an emphasis on creating a sleek, modern exterior.
It meets environmental standards, being registered for LEED® Gold Certification, which reflects its energy efficiency and sustainable design features.

21 Roy Avenue is a commercial building with a variety of medical inclined tenants including Nova Scotia Health.
